Francine M. Gordon

A Poem for the Student Activists

Civil rights trump gun rights in a society that is just,

The imbalance in the US is the reason that we must

raise our voices, take to the streets,

Walk out of school, ignore the tweets

of a President beholden to the NRA.

Walk on students, raise your voice and say,

”Enough is Enough”, reclaim your youth,

March for your lives, demand the truth

from those who claim to care for you.

Raise your voice, use your vote, as justice you pursue.
